Every Monday at mid-day an email is sent out detailing all the instructor's openings for the week. Simply reply to the email with a request to get a time slot. Slots are scheduled on a first come/first served basis.

Use the link above or at the bottom of this page to sign up for this list.
Specify that you want to be added to the lesson email list and indicate if this is for softball or baseball.

Cancellation Policy
All those attending private or semi-private lessons are asked to provide 24 hour notice prior to canceling a scheduled lesson, either via phone or email. Anyone not providing 24 hour notice may be charged for the entire amount of the lesson. Please note that we must pay our instructors for their time whether a student is present or not.

Video Recording Policy
Video recording of lessons or clinics with a StrikeZone instructor is strictly prohibited by any and all parties while in the facility, with the exception of StrikeZone personnel filming for video analysis as part of a lesson. We reserve the right to terminate lessons without refund of anyone videotaping or otherwise recording lessons at any time.

Private Lessons

The StrikeZone Academy offers private lessons on an appointment basis for $95 per hour sold individually or in a block of five.

Sign up and prepay for a block of 5 lessons, and get a 6th lesson free. All lessons must be completed in 3 months to be eligible.

A five lesson block is suggested because the instructors feel that a series of lessons are required to have an impact on a player's performance and that only one or two hours might be an insufficient period of time to accomplish any significant progress. In addition, lessons which are scheduled in blocks are more likely able to attain a consistent day/time slot especially during the Winter months when demand increases.

This is merely a suggestion and lessons can always be taken on an single session basis without a multi-week commintment.

Semi-Private Lessons Also Available
Semi-private instruction is a lower cost option and may be appropriate for younger kids who might not be able to handle an entire hour of one-on-one instruction, for team related groups, or just parents who have players of the same skill level that want to team up. These sessions are available at the following hourly rates:

2 Players - $75 per player
3 Players - $65 per player
4+ Players - $55 per player

We have an excellent staff of instructors, all of whom have college experience, with many having played professionally as well. Private instruction also offers the ultimate in flexibility: you can customize your program and divide your lesson time between a variety of subjects including: hitting, pitching, catching, fielding and throwing.

We always strive to match your lesson goals with an instructor's specific strengths, experience and background. We make every effort to plan lessons according to your schedule.

If you request a specific instructor, you will be able to choose from a selection of dates and times for which that instructor will be available.

  • Email Address

Hi Don
Just want to drop you a quick note. My son won the Mason District Little League Home Run Derby title for the second year this past weekend. Caleb has spent over a year working hard on his mechanics at the StrikeZone Academy with hitting instructor Coach Kevin O'Keefe. I want to thank you and Coach Kevin for having such a great facility and top notch instruction.

Please tell the coach who ran the clinic that he was fantastic. Bruce got 2 awesome hits at his first LL game of the season!

Please let Coach O'Keefe know that Ryan had his first game of the season today and his first hit was a 3 run home run over the fence in deep center field. Coach O'Keefe's work with Ryan continues to help him be a better hitter and pitcher. Attached is a picture of Ryan holding the ball he hit. Many thanks to Kevin for his continued work with Ryan.

Just a quick thank you for all your work with Ryan over the last few months. Ryan received a phone call this past Friday informing him that he was selected as an All Star for West Springfield Little League. His game, especially his hitting, improved a lot this season thanks to your work with him. In fact, his All Star coach mentioned how impressed he was with Ryan's swing and asked him who taught him how to hit - "Coach O'Keefe" was Ryan's answer!

We would love to bring him in again for you to work with him, but he has 3 hour practices everyday until the District 9 Tournament in a couple of weeks. However, we plan to have you work with him some more this fall to help him improve even more and prepare for next season.
